Biography
Dr. C. Kolandasamy
Dr. C. Kolandasamy, MS, MRCS (Edin), M.Ch (Surgical Gastroenterology), FARIS, is a senior Surgical Gastroenterologist with 26 years of clinical experience and extensive expertise in advanced minimally invasive, laparoscopic, and robotic surgery. He has served in leading institutions including Rela Hospital, Madras Medical College & Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital, and Government Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College & Hospital, Salem.
His areas of expertise include robotic and advanced laparoscopic GI & HPB surgeries, GI cancer surgery, bariatric surgery, complex hernia and abdominal wall reconstruction, hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery, upper and lower GI endoscopy, and complex re-operative procedures. He has also been actively involved in liver transplantation and played a key role in establishing the Liver Transplant Unit at Madras Medical College and Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital.
Dr. Kolandasamy has authored and co-authored several national and international medical publications, received awards for his contributions to surgical innovation, and was instrumental in performing the first laparoscopic oesophagectomy (VATS) in a Government Medical College Hospital in Tamil Nadu. His professional interests focus on robotic surgery, minimally invasive surgery, and advanced hepatopancreatobiliary surgery.
