Biography
Dr. Ashwin Rangan A is a General Surgeon. He trained in both open and minimally invasive (laparoscopic) surgery. He earned his MBBS and his MS in General Surgery at SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre, Potheri, where he gained broad surgical experience across elective, emergency and trauma care.
He has a strong interest in laparoscopic and hernia surgery. His postgraduate thesis compared two advanced techniques for ventral hernia repair: laparoscopic eTEP (Enhanced View Totally Extraperitoneal) repair and TARM (Trans Abdominal Retromuscular) repair. This work was later published in the Formosan Journal of Surgery.
Dr. Ashwin is a member of the Association of Surgeons of India (ASI). He keeps his skills current by attending national conferences, CMEs and hands-on workshops. He speaks Tamil, Telugu and English, so he can explain diagnoses and treatment options clearly to patients and families from different backgrounds.
