Biography
Dr. Sushmitha Shree P is an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with an MS in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. She has trained in both routine and high-risk pregnancy care, and has experience managing labour, delivery and obstetric emergencies. She also performs a broad range of gynaecological procedures.
She completed her MBBS at Sree Mookambika Institute of Medical Sciences, affiliated to The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University. She then earned her MS in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) Medical College and Hospital, Sangli, Maharashtra. She went on to serve there as a Senior Resident, managing patients in the outpatient clinic, emergency and inpatient wards of a busy tertiary-care teaching hospital.
Her dissertation compared maternal outcomes of VBAC (Vaginal Birth After Caesarean) with repeat caesarean section in women who had a previous caesarean delivery. She has a special interest in high-risk obstetrics and minimally invasive gynaecological surgery, including laparoscopic and robotic procedures.
Dr. Sushmitha speaks Tamil, English, Hindi and Marathi, which helps her explain care options clearly and put patients and families at ease.

- Managed routine and high-risk obstetric and gynaecological patients in the outpatient clinic, emergency and inpatient wards
- Managed the labour ward, including normal deliveries, instrumental deliveries and caesarean sections
- Handled obstetric emergencies such as postpartum haemorrhage, high blood pressure in pregnancy, shoulder dystocia, cord prolapse, placenta previa and placental abruption
- Performed and assisted in surgery, including abdominal and vaginal hysterectomy, tubal ligation, and salpingectomy for ruptured ectopic pregnancy
