Dr. R. Vijaya Shankari is a Visiting Consultant in the Department of Ophthalmology. Previously she had worked as a Medical Director and Consultant at MMRV Hospital. Mogappair West. Also as Medical Director and Chief Eye Surgeon at Lion’s Eye Hospital, Shenoy Nagar. She has 13+ Years of Teaching Experience in the Medical Field.

- Teaching Experience in Sree Balaji Medical College for MBBS Students -3 Years
- Teaching Faculty and Thesis guide in Sankara Eye Hospital for DNB(Ophthalrmology) students – 10 Years
Surgical Experience:
- Has performed more than 30,000 cataract surgeries (Both SICS and Phaco),
- More than 4000 Glaucoma surgeries (Trabeculectomy).
- 22 Has trained many DNB students and surgical interns in Phaco cataract as well as Trabeculectomy.
- Performed Advanced Glaucoma Shunt surgeries and Laser procedures in Glaucoma.
- Has presented papers and posters in the Glaucoma Society of India – National Level Conferences.
