Dr. V. P. Chandrasekaran is an accomplished healthcare leader and pioneer in Emergency Medicine, with over 23 years of experience as an academician, clinician, and hospital administrator. A gold medalist in both MD and Diploma in Accident & Emergency Medicine, he has been instrumental in developing emergency care systems and postgraduate academic programs across multiple institutions in South India.
Currently serving as the Chief Operating Officer of SRM Global Hospitals, he leads hospital operations with a strong focus on clinical excellence, quality systems, patient-centered care, and strategic growth. Under his leadership, the hospital has seen improved operational outcomes and strengthened its reputation as a tertiary care center of excellence. He also holds the position of Associate Dean (Super Specialty) and Advisor in Emergency Medicine at SRM Medical College Hospital & Research Centre.

In his earlier administrative roles, including as COO and Medical Director of VIMS Hospital, he spearheaded NABH accreditation, launched successful transplant programs, and significantly raised hospital performance standards. As a former National President of the Society for Emergency Medicine India (SEMI), he has organized national conferences, developed innovative medical devices, and published in national and international journals.
